JULIA MORGAN JEWEL BOX

This architecturally significant home was designed by Julia Morgan in 1915 and was the former home of famed San Francisco decorator, Tony Hail. The new interiors pay respect to the history of the house but also express the adventurous tastes of a young dynamic family. Having worked with this client on two previous homes, Marzo had developed a trusting and friendly relationship and was granted extensive creative freedom. For these perfectly proportioned rooms, Marzo sourced dealers and auction houses around the world in search of the rare and the unusual. The furnishings acquired range from ancient Greek to Art Deco and span 26 centuries and six continents.

This home was featured in the February 2005 issue of ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST.

This project recently won the prestigious ICAA Julia Morgan Award for Excellence in the Classical Tradition – Best Interior Design & Decoration, Residential.
